If any of yall have had Tumblr before the dash changed (if you don’t know what that is…eff you)…I respect you a little more, but not much. Tumblr has been around for SO MANY YEARS. Just because you just found it on the internet two days ago doesn’t mean it’s for you….go somewhere. Seriously. Tumblr so be a safe haven for people who aren’t judgmental, and can relate. scentlessapprentices asked: Mix ¼ teaspoon of sea salt into 1 coffee mug of boiling water and leave to cool until bearable, ensure you keep to this measurement as the salt can have a very drying effect if the mixture is too concentrated! It is also important to use sea salt and not table, epsom or rock salt as these salts have chemicals added to them to stop them clumping which will also irritate your piercing. Make sure your hands are clean and then take a mouthful and swill for several minutes –Then take a cotton bud and soak it in the solution. Clean thoroughly around the front and back of the piercing, removing any “crusties.” (Which are caused by a light yellow / white discharge called lymph and are perfectly normal!). When you have finished be sure to rinse with clean warm water. It is best to clean your piercing twice a day for 6 weeks and to rinse your mouth after eating, smoking and drinking anything other than water. Just use the same mixture above for this. Consider buying a nice new toothbrush as your old one will be harbouring bacteria and old bits of food, which its best to keep away from a nice new piercing!
